Inked!
Inked!

I had to. Couldn’t resist. Check this. My latest birthday present.

2 hours of pain and believe me, it IS painful to get tattooed on the neck. Maybe if you have similar skin composition of a troll or just sheer b@ll$, it wouldn’t hurt as much but for me it was borderline excruciating.

This tattoo is particularly meaningful to me because it’s my favorite song from Bob Marley. You know everyone has a personal uplifting song to listen to when things are looking bad and mine happens to be Three Little Birds. A few years ago when I was at my most confused I used to listen to this song every morning just to clear my head.

Rise up this mornin,

Smiled with the risin sun,

Three little birds

Pitch by my doorstep

Singin sweet songs

Of melodies pure and true,

Sayin, this is my message to you-ou-ou:

Singin: dont worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh!

Every little thing gonna be all right. dont worry!

Singin: dont worry about a thing - I wont worry!

cause every little thing gonna be all right.

I got them done near my ear so it seems as though they’re telling me that everything’s going to be all right when it seems the opposite.

So… yea. You like?

P.S. Thanks to Lynda from Inked for the design and inking!

    Thank You
    Currently listening to Goldfrapp

Currently reading The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao

This blog entry is going to pretty simple and straightforward. I just want to thank you ALL for wishing, singing and shouting Happy Birthday to me on my birthday last Friday. Completely overwhelming, unbelievably touching and so wonderfully nice… so THANK YOU!

Here’s the headphones cake my mum baked for me. My favourite colour when I was 10 was orange and my mum still thinks it’s orange.

Then my cousin bought me an ice cream cake that was pretty awesome.

And here’s the biggest momma of all… the bag that Prem, Hani, Basil, Hafiz, Steve, Ben, Fabes, Kak Nida, Seelan Boss, Shali, Roshan, Aarthi, Steven and Sureen got for me….. a Paris Hilton original!

Thanks again to everyone who made my 24th birthday such a wonderful one

    Of Things Heartbreaking
After a spat of books that did absolutely nothing for my wellbeing, my soul was positively moaning out for just ONE good book that could bring back that good feeling. So last night I walked into Borders, saw a sign that said 3 for 2 (3 books for the price of 2, or buy 2 get 1 free, same difference) and ignoring my financial woes, I bought 3, including this one!

The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao is about a terribly overweight Dominican boy who’s over nerdy, over into role playing games growing up in the ghetto. Yes, loser would be a shorter word to describe him. I just got to Chapter 2 of the book and it’s so heartbreakingly funny that all I want to do at this moment is ask Prem to shut up (he’s talking now) so I can open the book and resume.

On top of that I’ve been rediscovering Goldfrapp lately and man, I almost forgot of the pure genius that is Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory. In case you have never been touched by the awesomeness that is Goldfrapp, well all you need to know is that these guys are partially responsible for popularizing trip hop into the mainstream back in the late 90’s. Their latest album is called Seventh Tree and I am so hooked on the song A&E now. Like the book I’m reading now, A&E is a heartbreakingly gorgeous song about… well, a heartbreak. Check out this clip here to see what I mean.

Who would’ve thought heartbreak could actually be beautiful?

    Earth Hour Has Arrived
March 28th. No electricity. For one hour only.

That’s what earth hour is about and 2009 is the first year Malaysia is participating officially in this global effort. Forget about “saving” the earth. It’s too much effort. But just one hour in the dark? I think that’s pretty ok, don’t you think? And if you tell 5 of your friends who tell 5 more of their friends the domino effect will take place and THEN we would probably have a good shot at saving our earth.

Please find out more at www.earthhour.org/malaysia or you can join their group on Facebook to spread the word!
