Monday, October 5th, 2009: Cruising Bukit Bintang!

So over the weekend, my girl and I were cruising Bukit Bintang and came across a rather interesting shop just infront of Guardian Pharmacy… this shop had something that looked and smelt like a kebab so being the typical food “Greedy Pigs” I was… I suggested that we try it!

Turns out it was the most interesting thing I was ever tasted with lots of flavors inside all dying to be tasted by whoever devours it! “What’s this called” I asked… but I didn’t care less what it was called… “Sharapova” was what I heard… sounded more like a tennis player than a middle eastern delicacy! hahaha :p

In anycase… it was scrumptious and I can’t help but think about it even as I type this blog! :P

Anyway, if you’re on twitter you would have heard about this way before anyone else did reading this… so follow me on twitter… it’s twitter.com/itsSTEVElah! See you there! :P

Friday, October 2nd, 2009: My Dirt Bike’s Back!

It’s been over a month and a half since the accident and just yesterday after I finished work… I rushed over to my dirt bike mechanic who earlier in the day gave me good news that my bike was repaired and tested! I was elated albeit a little scared of riding her back home but nonetheless I still went to pick her up!

Now the way I remember my bike was like this… prior to the accident of course so when I went to pick her up… I was quite sad to see that a few of her parts had to be replaced making her look rather odd!

But still I love her to bits… afterall… it’s not her fault that some people just don’t know how to use their indicators or mirrors to watch out for oncoming vehicles… and it’s also not her fault that ‘some’ people are just so selfish that the don’t realize that they are jeopardizing the lives of other by beating red lights! In any case, as angry as I am… I’m just happy to be alive lah and now my bike is back to working condition although she does need some airbrushing done… blue isn’t her colour! hahaha :P

Recently, a lot of people including my own sister & brother-in-law who mind you gave me the longest lecture ever; they’ve been telling me things like sell her or don’t ride her anymore… but let’s face it… yes it’s a bike… yes its dangerous… yes I could have died… but would you stop driving a car if someone knocked into you and you almost died? It’s a means of transport and I’m no ‘Mat Rempit’… I go to work and I come home… and that’s it! If it were my fault that I had gotten into the accident in the first place… then maybe… just maybe I would think twice about riding her again… but it’s not my fault and it’s certainly not hers either! It’s the fault of every irresponsible driver or rider out there who doesn’t look at his mirrors… doesn’t use his indicator/signal lights to show that they are turning… it’s their fault so why should I be the one to give up my bike cuz of those selfish people! That’s my stand and I’m sticking to it like I’m sticking to riding my dirt bike!

    Hang Loose! :P

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009: Now comes the difficult part!

After having to stay in the “useless” (I’ll explain why later) hospital for a couple of nights, I was allowed to return home with strict no activities policy by the doctor and painkillers that didn’t do anything to help ease the pain! But on top of all that… I still had my dirt bike parked near the accident site and a possibility that it would get stolen at any time if I didn’t act quickly! So after resting for a few days, my girl and I drove back to the accident site with a couple of bike mechanics and a track that would carry my bike back to my dealer.

After that I had to make a police report to claim my insurance and also to see if the police would be able to trace the person that knocked me down! So off we went to make a report at the Jalan Bandar police station! I was quite grateful to know that reports are done on the computer and so it was easy for me to type everything out with just my left hand! Granted it took a little longer than usual but atleast I finished it almost half an hour later! After making the report I was asked to go upstairs to speak to the detective!

Before I went in to speak to the detective I had to wait outside for him to finish with someone else! And whilst waiting I saw a whole array of Police Outriders all waiting to go into the field!

After making the report, the next step was for us to head back to my dirt bike dealer and pass him a copy of the report! It was a whole load of back and forth and mind you it’s now the 16th of September and my insurance company has yet to file the claims for my bike! My insurance company has ads on buses that claim that there’s no hassles and no fuss but after what I experienced… it’s all just “lip service” or in this case “ad service”! Anyway, that’s pretty much it for the report! But why I said it was a ‘useless’ hospital was cuz of how I was treated from the time I entered till the time I was released! For one I felt like they thought I was a “Mat-Rempit” therefore it warranted them leaving me in the emergency room for 6 hours before warding me! Secondly, my girl was fighting for a single bedded room but was rudely treated by the lady who handled the admissions! It was a terrible thing to see how people even with broken limbs were treated and asked to just sit down! All in all it was a bad hospital experience but wait till you hear about how the doctor whom removed the metal pieces from my hand!

    Laterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! :P
