One of Britain's biggest and most brilliant pop bands; The Wanted have announced details of their brand new album ‘Battleground', to be released on November 7th, with the single ‘Lightning' being released on October 16th. Having notched up five anthemic Top Five singles and two Number Ones, including the albums lead single ‘Glad You Came' and the official Comic Relief single ‘Gold Forever', Battleground is set to shake up the charts all over again.
Battleground has seen the band distill dancefloor thrills with their own deliciously unique twist. Recorded in both the UK (at producer Steve Mac's studio in London) and in the U.S.A (at singer/songwriter Diane Warren's L.A studio), the album twists between the exhilarating electro pop of tracks such as ‘Invincible' to the tormented strings of ‘Warzone'.
Over the last year the lads have pooled a spectrum of production wizards who have added a different edge to ‘Battleground'. The likes of acclaimed singer/songwriter Jack McManus (Groove Armada), Xenomania's Brian Higgins (Girls Aloud, Pet Shop Boys, Kylie) and their long term collaborative team Steve Mac (JLS, Leona Lewis) and WayneHector (Cheryl Cole, Britney Spears) have all made their mark on the album.
Incredibly, only a little over a year has passed since the band's debut single ‘All Time Low' shook the sound of pop music to its core and became a Number One smash hit, bringing a blast of much-needed fresh air to the charts. Since then, there has been no stopping this extraordinary band. From a ‘Best British Single' nomination at the BRIT Awards to a deal with ultra-hip American label Def Jam, the band have found record-breaking success at every turn, scoring 50 million YouTube views, selling 400,000 copies of their eponymous debut album and rounding off the summer by playing to over 16,000 people in their rammed tent at V Festival.
The band have most recently returned from touring with Justin Bieber, on the South American leg of his tour. The shows were an incredible success with the guys playing to over 55,000 people.
The Wanted will also embark on their first UK arena tour early next year, playing London's O2 in March. There is simply no stopping them now.
