Info Board

The SPCA NS was founded in 2000 by a group of senior citizens concerned with the state of homeless animals in and around Seremban. It’s a relatively very young association compared to SPCA Selangor which was founded in 1957. As the senior citizens themselves needed help, they, in spite of their efforts were unable to make an impact on the issue of homeless animals. In spite of everything the SPCA NS did support the treatment of sick animals at a privately owned animal shelter in Kuala Sawah by raising funds through the sale of calendars and a charity dinner.
As many are aware the SPCA is a voluntary association funded and managed by the community everywhere in the world. Each SPCA is independent of each other, and answers to the Registrar of Societies. Unfortunately in Negeri Sembilan there is very poor community involvement unlike SPCA in Selangor. The SPCA NS team 2012 wants to raise the profile of the SPCA in our community. We wish to bring the SPCA to the community and we want the community to engage the SPCA in a responsible and meaningful way. After all the SPCA can only be as strong or as effective as the community wants it to be.
