Carly Rae Jepsen has a lot to prove. Though the Canadian import has had a whirlwind year with the success of her beyond-infectious single "Call Me Maybe," she remains, in the eyes of many, a one-hit wonder who dresses (and acts) significantly younger than her 26 years.
Last week, Jepsen released her sophomore single "This Kiss," which she lovingly described as her "favourite" off her new album, Kiss. Though the remarkably vanilla single was produced by tried-and-true hitmaker RedFoo of LMFAO, the song has yet to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. So Jepsen's kicking it up a notch: She's going for sex appeal. Bye bye, pants!
Though her high school days are long behind her, the singer looked like jailbait on the set of her new music video on Thursday, outfitted in a pair of tiny leather shorts and a befuddling S&M tank top. This is sex appeal as imagined by a 14-year-old girl — it's hard to imagine any grown woman choosing to hang mini baby blankets from her ears.
