1st Parliament Sitting Under New Government Has Been Postponed To May 18

A vote of no-confidence was expected to be tabled against Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Parliament meeting that was initially scheduled for 9 March will now instead reconvene on 18 May, said Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof

Mohammad Ariff told Berita Harian that he had received a letter from Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin last night, regarding the new date for the Parliament sitting.

“I received a letter last night, a press statement will be released by the Parliament this morning,” he told the Malay daily today, 4 March.

“There will be no sitting on 9 March. The new date for the Parliament’s opening ceremony is on 18 May.”
