These past years we’ve seen more Korean pop artists and groups making their waves into the global market.

Here are 8 K-Pop stars that have collaborated with international artist!

1.Sour Candy – Lady Gaga & Blackpink

Gaga and Blackpink’s collaboration rumour came in March 2020 when an American shopping outlet, Target, accidentally leaked Gaga’s album Chromatica tracklist on their website. Not long after, Gaga confirmed the tracklist and announced their collab on April 21.

2.Play It Cool – Steve Aoki & Monsta x

The collaborative song was released on March 2019, while the original Korean version was released one month before.

3.So Am I – Ava Max x NCT 127

Originally released in March 29, K-pop boy band NCT 127  joined Ava Max on a new version of her empowering pop anthem So Am I.

4.Boy With Luv – BTS x Halsey

The highly anticipated collab came with several teasers before Boy With Luv music video was finally released in April 2019. “We first met (Halsey) two years ago, and we felt that our passion in music connected, ” BTS member, Suga, said when asked  in an interview how their collab came about.

5.Hangover – PSY ft Snoop Dogg

When PSY first thought of the title Hangover, Snoop’s name was the first to pop into his mind. And It didn’t take long for Snoop to say yes, all PSY said was “can you feature on my song’ and he’s asking the title and I say ‘Hangover.’ And he said, ‘Oh, I’m doing it.’ So, that’s how we met.” The song came out in June 2014.

6.Cave Me In – Gallant, Tablo, Eric Nam

The ’90s-inspired R&B track seemed like an odd choice when they first announced the release date in November,2016. The song dropped in January 26  2017 and many were surprised of how great it turned out with the smooth smoldering tune.

7.Old Town Road (Seoul Town Road Remix) – BTS’s RM & Lil Nas X

Old Town Road was the highest charted song in 2019. And when BTS member, RM, joined in the fun and made a remix with the star, it almost broke the internet!

8.Close To Me – Ellie Goulding, Diplo, Red Velvet

Ellie Goulding dropped her song Close To Me in October 2018. The “Red Velvet Remix” of “Close to Me” came out much later on April 5 2019, replacing the original collaborators vocal Swae Lee.
