Many countries around the world have been giving a 4 day work week and a 3 day weekend a try! But if we’re honest us Malaysians might take advantage of this as our “lepak” culture is still very much alive!
In this episode of #TerkiniwithNandini Fly’s AM Mayhem and Nandini discuss if Malaysians are ready for the 4 day work week?
Nandini and Fly’s AM Mayhem agree on the fact that, we should give this a try and see if the company thrives during that period but with that being said maybe not all companies are able to implement this due to their own work schedule.
“We already have so many public holidays but at the same time there are days when I get a public holiday I get annoyed because I have to come back and do more stuff. It ruins my schedule and it ends up with me working till 1 am
Also it’s very Malaysian culture we take 3 hour lunch breaks everyday! So are we ready?!” – Nandini
“I was reading this one article that said that New Zealand wanted to do this and the reason why is in that 3 day weekend they have encouraged New Zealanders to travel within the country to help the tourism industry” – Hafiz

In conclusion, no harm in giving it a try, but we Malaysians should focus at our work at hand at the moment despite 5 or 4 working days!
