It’s Ariana Grande’s year!
Not long after taking home a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album award and Dominating Hot 100 for Fifth Week in a row for “7 Rings,” the singer has racked up yet another top spot on Monday, Feb 25, surpassing Selena Gomez as the most-followed woman on Instagram. But we must admit the result is tight. As of now Grande has 146,286,173 followers while the “Wolves” singer is slightly behind with 146,267,801. Regardless these are huge numbers!
Despite the big numbers, both women still falls behind soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who has over 155 million followers. Ronaldo had surpassed Gomez in October.
Grande has catapulted more than 13 million new Instagram followers in the last four months. The singer has been active on the photo-sharing app, continuously posting new music and videos, while sharing her everyday life with her fans. As for Gomez, the singer has been keeping it low since announcing she would be on hiatus from social media before checking into an inpatient facility to seek mental health treatment. Since then, the “Back to You” singer’s posting on Instagram has been minimal.
