Bank Negara has announced a six-month loan repayment moratorium for all individuals and SMEs, to help relieve the financial burden of those affected by the COVID-19 outbreak
This moratorium, or delay of loan repayments, is automatic and will affect all individuals and SMEs, effective 1 April 2020. That means you do not need to apply as long as you qualify for the deferment.
Nevertheless, interest would continue to accrue, or accumulate, during this period, which could result in a higher instalment amount or an extension of the loan period.
