We love these songs, but who knew these were the stars who wrote it!

Not all artists write their own music, and that’s a fact – not everyone can be Taylor Swift! – More likely these musicians end up writing and giving it to other artists to sing and perform their songs.

Often times their own songs work better for other artists than themselves and it proves! Especially when these tracks, turn out to be big hits.

Here’s a few favourite stars who have written for major tracks!

Katy Perry

Hits she wrote: Iggy Azalea ft. Rita Ora “Black Widow” and Kelly Clarkson “I Do Not Hook Up”

Katy Perry co-wrote “Black Widow” originally for her 2013 album Prism, but passed it to Iggy Azalea- which made the summer hit album “Fancy.”

Ed Sheeran

Hits he wrote: Zara Larsson “Don’t Let Me Be Yours”, Rita Ora “Your Song”, Justin Bieber “Love Yourself”,  One Direction “Little Things,” Liam Payne  “Strip That Down.”

Justin Bieber’s hit track “Love Yourself” was written by Ed, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the style of music is similar to the star!

Lady Gaga

Hits she wrote: Adam Lambert “Fever,” Britney Spears “Quicksand.”

“Quicksand” was included in the bonus track of Britney Spears’ album Circus, and if listened closely it has major Gaga vibes.

“Sine From Above” Lady Gaga ft. Elton John is actually written by Ryan. This could be one of the craziest song the singer has contributed to, which is now included in Gaga’s latest album Chromatica).

Bruno Mars

A collaboration between Adele and Bruno Mars for “All I Ask” was one no one saw coming!

Taylor Swift

Hits she wrote: Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna “This Is What You Came For,” Miley Cyrus “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home.”

Originally, Taylor Swift and her then boyfriend Calvin Harris wrote this hit track “This Is What You Came For” together. But, Swift used a fake name under Nils Sjöberg, so that their relationship at the time didn’t overshadow the song!

Pharrell Williams

Who knew Pharrell wrote this iconic 2000s song “I’m A Slave 4 U”for Britney!
