The 38-years-old actor acknowledged his own negligence when he was too focused on speech preparations that he forgot to take off the electronic device before going up to stage. Through an explanation made on TV3’s Melodi program yesterday, Shaheizy explained, ‘’Again, I would like to apologize to my fans and especially to the organizers of ABPBH because I understand that the event is very prestigious. At that time, I was in a state of confusion, nervous and at the same time, had to memorize the script over and over again.’’
The father of two also stated, ‘’Because I was too focused on giving my best, I did not realize what I had around me until I accidentally brought an e-cigarette on stage. Often, my team or my assistant will remind me regarding these matters. But that night, I have no one around me.’’

Even so, the organizers continue to express regret over the incident because it has indirectly tarnished their reputation. They say, as an experienced artist, Shaheizy Sam should be more sensitive to public perception. In fact, all the artists involved have been briefed on the dress code before the event.

“No matter what reason is given, Shaheizy Sam who has won the title of ABPBH Most Popular Star three times (ABPBH 2010, ABPBH 2012 and ABPBH 2014) and also as an experienced artist should be more sensitive in respecting the organizers, artists others and the entertainment industry as well as the audience at home.”
Hmmm, anyway… Hopefully this will be a lesson for all other artists as well. Double check what’s around your body before getting up the stage. Especially in a prestigious event like this.
