Yet another milestone achieved by the biggest K-Pop girl group, BLACKPINK!
BLACKPINK makes history again by becoming the first female artist to surpass a whopping 60 million subscribers on Youtube. They are now only a little over 2 million followers shy of taking over the lead from Justin Bieber as the most subscribed artist on YouTube. This is a great record to add to the group’s repertoire, what with BLACKPINK having only debuted back in 2016, meaning they’ve gained worldwide recognition in as little as five years. The girls also currently rank top amongst the K-Pop groups in South Korea based on YouTube followers.

Last year in July BLACKPINK surpassed one of the biggest singers in the world, ‘Positions’ singer Ariana Grande, to become the numero uno female artist with the most amount of YouTube subscribers. The group also passed other big names in the music industry, such as the likes of Ed Sheeran and Eminem. The subscriber gap between Justin Bieber and the K-Pop group has gotten smaller. The Peaches singer has had his official platform account for eleven years. This shows us that, in no time, they might just surpass his record after all!
Every time BLACKPINK releases a new song, it attracts millions of new Youtube subscribers. Their high-quality videos and performances have garnered more than 17 billion views in total. Their music video for “DDU-DU DDU-DU” alone exceeds 1.5 billion views.
Congratulations BLACKPINK on another record broken!
