It’s good news for the K-Pop world! It’s official: BTS are due to release a new single this May.
Just weeks after dropping a new single (the Japanese track, ‘Film Out’ and announcing their compilation album (‘BTS, the Best’, set for a June release), BTS has shocked their fans (with delight) with a surprise announcement for new music!
The group teased their ARMYS with a mysterious upload on YouTube. Without warning, they started a live stream, giving the hundreds of thousands of fans watching nothing but a bright yellow animated stick of butter with the sound of a kitchen in the background and a timer counting down. And to what?
Well, it all led up to a formal announcement of their new single “Butter”, coming out in just a few weeks.
After the countdown expired on BTS’s YouTube announcement, the visual transitioned, showing the word “Butter” and its release date: Friday, May 21, 2021. The track is expected to arrive at midnight EST (12pm Malaysia). According to a press release from BTS’ label Big Hit Music, the track will be dance-pop based.
Physical copies of “Butter” will be available globally later this year, if you’re the type that loves the look and feel of actual CDs.
BTS has been quite busy this month, have also recently announced their collaboration “tour” with McDonald’s, which is set to start in Malaysia amongst other chosen countries. The collaboration includes a BTS inspired meal with a brand new, BTS-exclusive dipping sauce, yummy!
