Page Six has confirmed that Emma Stone and her fiance Dave McCary are now officially married! After first writing that the couple had planned to postpone their March wedding (because of – you guessed it – the coronavirus pandemic), a source has revealed to the publication that the couple had definitely tied the knot. 31-year-old Stone and 35-year-old McCary were seen wearing matching gold bands on their fingers.
This follows McCary’s engagement announcement by way of a social media post back in December last year ,where the couple were all smiles as Stone flashed a beautiful pearl ring. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that in May, during an interview with Resse Witherspoon on her ‘Hello Sunshine’ series, the ‘Amazing Spiderman’ actress was sporting a gold band. During the segment, when fellow guest Dr. Harold Koplewicz brought up the correlation between anxiety and marriage, Stone had a quick response. When Dr. Koplewicz joked,
“If you marry an anxious man, you’re going to have to know me the rest of my life,”
“Thankfully, I didn’t do that.”
This quip, coupled with the fact that it looked like Stone had swapped out her pearly ring for the simpler band (which, not long after, McCary was seen wearing a matching one) merely added fuel to the flames of speculation that the pair had in fact gotten married.
The pair are said to have first met in 2017, on the set of ‘Saturday Night Live’, where McCary (a segment director) directed a skit that Stone was a part of.
In the months following, they were seen going to the movies, catching bites to eat and even attending a basketball game.
However, their first official red carpet appearance only happened at the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Fast forward and three years later, the couple is happily hitched. Plus! Rumours are now flying that the couple is soon to be welcoming their own little bundle of joy! 2017’s highest-paid actress had this to say about marriage and babies during an interview with Jennifer Lawrence back in 2018,
“My perspective about kids has changed as I’ve gotten older. I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, ‘I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids.’ And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.”
Nothing is confirmed just yet but fingers crossed we hear the good news!
