Oh no, the tea is everywhere! Last week, Sabrina released “Skin,” after fans theorized that Sabrina’s reported romance with Olivia’s alleged former boyfriend, Joshua Bassett, was directly referenced in Olivia’s hit single, “Drivers License.”

As Buzzfeed notes, a pre-released version of “drivers license,” which was first released last year, featured Olivia singing of a partner that left her for a girl with brunette hair. Later, when the song was officially released, after Sabrina and Joshua were spotted on a reported date together, the lyrics changed, and the former partner instead pursued a girl with blonde hair.

In her new single, Sabrina seems to speak directly to Olivia’s lyrics. They’re pretty pointed, after all: “Maybe then we could pretend / There’s no gravity in the words we write / Maybe you didn’t mean it / Maybe blonde was the only rhyme.”

The remainder of the song speaks about a pair that could have possibly been friends, had the circumstances been different. Additional lines include, “You can try /Try to get under my skin / While he’s on mine” and “You’re putting me in the spotlight / But I’ve been under it all my life,” a direct reference to Sabrina Carpenter’s Disney Channel beginnings.

When asked about the subject matter of “Drivers License,” Olivia said it was the “least important” part, telling Billboard, “It’s resonating with people because of how emotional it is, and I think everything else is not important.” Decide for yourself, and give a listen to both.
