For those unaware, Karlie and Taylor used to be thick as thieves, but by 2019, it seemed like their friendship fizzled out—and Taylor literally skipped Karlie’s wedding. Uhm, that’s huge, if you ask us. And now,  some fans speculate that Taylor took a dig at Karlie on her recent Evermore bonus track, titled “It’s Time to Go.”

The lyrics that have fans speculating about a Taylor and Karlie falling-out are pretty clear. In the song, Taylor sings, “When the words of a sister come back in whispers that prove she was not, in fact, what she seemed / Not a twin from your dreams, she’s a crook who was caught.”

But then, amid the speculation, Taylor set the record straight on those rumors though. (Well, kinda.) On her Instagram, Taylor wrote about the deluxe tracks on her record and said “It’s Time to Go” is about leaving something that no longer serves you.

The post, in full: “The Evermore deluxe album with two bonus tracks, ‘Right Where You Left Me’ and ‘It’s Time to Go,’ is now available! The first is a song about a girl who stayed forever in the exact spot where her heart was broken, completely frozen in time. ‘It’s Time to Go’ is about listening to your gut when it tells you to leave. How you always know before you know, you know?”

Hmmmm, it’s sad… but sometimes when you grow, you outgrow relationships. You may leave behind d friendships along the way, but you’ll always keep the memories. And the world may never know (what happened to Taylor and Karlie’s friendship).
