When you think of the Hemsworth brothers, it’s easy to remember Liam Hemsworth (‘The Hunger Games’ and Miley Cyrus’s ex) and Chris Hemsworth (‘Thor’). However, not many know that there is another brother who is equally as talented as his younger siblings. As the eldest of the brood, Luke Hemsworth has made a name for himself as a TV actor on shows like ‘Neighbours’, ‘Last Man Standing’ and HBO’s ‘Westworld’. But it looks like the 39-year-old is looking to expand his repertoire by including a comic book character in it, just like his younger, hammer-wielding brother, Chris.

The eldest Hemsworth opened up to Screen Rant about taking up the mantle of a comic book character, superhero or otherwise – but Luke does have his eyes on one specific character. wanting to play X-Men character Wolverine.

“I learned to draw through comic books, copying comic books since I was about 10 years old. Spawn was a big one for; I really loved Todd McFarlane‘s Spawn. And then Batman – I would have fought Rob Pattinson for those gauntlets. And Wolverine! I’m like, ‘Come on, just pass them on, mate. Let’s give it to another Aussie.’ I’ll have to grow some chest hair, but I’m ready for Wolverine.”

With Disney now owning Fox and the rights to all the previously untouchable characters there,  we could one day see both Chris Hemsworth’s ‘Thor’ and Luke Hemsworth’s ‘Wolverine’ together on one screen! But, Luke will have some big shoes to fill!

When the emotional blockbuster ‘Logan’ was released in 2017, Australian superstar Hugh Jackman announced that it would be his last time playing the tortured comic book character. Jackman first took up the role all the way back in the year 2000 and has since played the character in 10 different movies (including the X-Men franchise and in Wolverine spin-offs). Heck, one automatically sees his face when trying to imagine Wolverine. However, the 52-year-old actor is done with the character and is ready to hang up his claws. According to him, the time was right with ‘Logan’ and he’s confident someone else will be able to play the role in the future. Of returning, he said

“It’s kind of like, you’re on your way home and your friend rings you and goes, ‘Oh, dude, a new DJ just came on and the music is awesome, are you going to come back?’ And you say, ‘Sounds good but … no.’ “
