Zendaya is yet again landing an iconic role!
The 24-year-old actress and singer are lending her voice to the iconic Tunes character Lola Bunny in the upcoming movie Space Jam: A New Legacy, which also stars NBA legend LeBron James and, of course, the entire Looney Tunes gang animated characters. Zendaya will play a pivotal role in efforts to evolve Lola past her 1993 image, as director Malcolm D. Lee aims to “reflect the authenticity of strong, capable female characters.” We can’t of any other person but Zendaya taking on the stance and portraying the character’s new image.

The Independent
Many fans of the original Space Jam movie were surprised to see the bunny, Lola’s subtle transformations when character images first dropped. Turns out, this change is fully intentional for director Lee. He hopes to turn Lola into a more “fully-realized” member of the Tunes Squad. “Lola was not politically correct,” Lee said, reflecting on the original film starring Michael Jordan. “This is a kids’ movie, why is she in a crop top? It just felt unnecessary, but at the same time there’s a long history of that in cartoons.”
