Get ready to be down with K-Pop fever!
All fans can rejoice now as an upcoming YouTube Original series, K-Pop Evolution will reveal the rise of South Korean pop bands that ruled the charts back in the early 2000s including EXO, NCT, Super Junior, and Red Velvet.
The series from Emmy- and Peabody-award winning Banger Films will look at the “past, present and future of the global music phenomenon and $10 billion industry known as K-Pop,” according to a statement about the eight-part series, with new episodes going up on the YouTube Originals every Wednesday.
The show also promises “never-before-seen personal stories of life as a ‘Korean idol’ from some of K-Pop’s biggest stars and an unprecedented behind-the-scenes view into how K-Pop bands and global record-breaking hits are created. Among the other groups profiled in the series are Baekhyun, BoA, Danny Im, Doyoung, Han Seung Yeon, Jinho, Joon Park, Kang Daniel, KANGTA, Kino, LEETEUK, Sandara Park, Seulgi, TAEMIN, Taeyong, Tony An, and other singers and industry insiders.
As well as diving into the history of the genre, first-person interviews, and unseen archival footage. with a special appearance from *drum roll* Gangnam Style Psy.
