When it comes to remakes, we’ve resigned to accepting that no movie is safe. But that’s not always a bad thing! After all, we’ve been served up some pretty killer modern takes of old favourites that have benefited from the advancements in tech (and progressive views) of the 21st century.

However, this one comes with an unexpected twist. The upcoming She’s All That remake—titled He’s All That—has been confirmed to be in production, but it will be quite a departure from the original.

Read on for everything to know about the reboot:

WHAT WILL BE THE PLOT OF ‘HE’S ALL THAT’?

According to Variety, the film will stick to the basic plot of the original, which was inspired by George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and the 1964 movie My Fair Lady.

If you’re struggling to recall, or if you’ve never seen it (fix this, immediately), the film centred on a popular jock, Zack Siler (played by Freddie Prinze Jr.), who gets dumped by his girlfriend and then sets out to transform artsy outcast Laney Boggs (played by Rachael Leigh Cook), as part of a bet made with his ‘frenemy’ Dean Sampson (played by Paul Walker).

The modern reboot will reportedly see an Instagram influencer who tries to turn a ‘nerdy’ boy into prom king material.

WHO WILL BE CAST IN ‘HE’S ALL THAT’?

The film will indulge in a bit of gender-swapping and has cast its Freddie Prinze Jr. lead—Tik Tok star Addison Rae Easterling—who will play teen influencer, Padgett Sawyer.

Cobra Kai‘s Tanna Buchanan is confirmed to play opposite her as Cameron Kweller.

Madison Pettis (American Pie: Girls’ Rules) and Myra Molloy (Halfworlds) are also set to star in the film.

And, in a surprising turn of events, Kourtney Kardashian has confirmed that she will also be making an appearance, taking to Instagram to share that she’s already studying her lines.

On whether we’ll see any cameos from the original all-star cast (which included Kieran Culkin, Anna Paquin, Usher, Lil’ Kim and Gabrielle Union) is unknown, but here’s hoping! Let’s hope this (one of the all time) rom-com favourites don’t go down the toilet hole. Errr.
