Out with the old and in with the new? Netflix’s romantic comedy franchises “The Kissing Booth” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” are officially coming to an end.

Ending in a trilogy, the young adult novels-turned-movies will give fans closure to the stories of Kissing Booth’s Elle Evans’ and To All The Boys’ Lara Jean’s stories this year. “The Kissing Booth 3” will see Elle Evans (Joey King) make an important decision: attend Harvard with Noah (Jacob Elordi) or join her best friend Lee (Joel Courtney) at UC Berkeley. During a special fan event, King revealed that the movie will drop in the summer of this year and that fans can expect to see the entire cast present for their swan song.

As for “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: Always and Forever, Lara Jean”, fans will see Lara Jean (Lana Condor) prepare for life beyond high school. If the movies continue along the same vein as the movie, we can expect to see Lara Jean struggle to make choices for her future with choosing the right college (to be close to boyfriend Peter) and choosing what’s right for her. As expected,  “To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean” (the trailer is now out!) will be dropping on Netflix around Valentines Day, on the 12th of February.

Of course, Netflix did not just deliver bad news – there’s good news too: in the form of a star-studded two and a half minute clip that features reels from some of the upcoming 71 movies set to drop this year. In the clip, Dwayne Johnson, Melissa McCarthy, Halle Berry, Jason Momoa, Amy Adams, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth and Lin-Manuel Miranda are featured showcasing their respective projects. Netflix hyped up the announcement alongside the caption:

“Here’s a sneak peek at 27 of the biggest, brightest, fastest, funniest, feel-good, feel-everything films and stars coming to Netflix this year.”
