The Royals have released a new official portrait!
Harry and Meghan have released a new official portrait; their first since they stepped down as senior members of the British Royal Family in January this year. The portrait was released ahead of their TIME100 Talks and is reminiscent of their engagement portrait taken in 2018. In both shots; Meghan is seen resting her arm on Harry’s lap.
The new black and white portrait was taken by photographer Matt Sayles in Prince Harry and Meghan’s residence in California. Prince Harry can be seen flashing a sweet smile to the camera, while leaning his arm against the chair. While a seated Meghan laughs, with her arm in Prince Harry’s lap. The couple’s engagement photos which were taken by fashion photographer Alexi Lubormirski had a similar pose. The engagement photograph was taken in Frogmore House in Windsor; which also acted as the venue for the couple’s wedding reception in May 2018. In this shot; the couple is seen sitting on steps with Meghan resting her arm on Prince Harry’s lap. Both of them are smiling demurely and we catch a glimpse of Meghan’s swanky engagement ring!
The major difference between both portraits is that the newer one is seemingly more casual. In the engagement shot; Meghan is wearing a Ralph Russo couture gown worth $75,000 but in the newer shot she is much more dressed down in a casual suit. Prince Harry dons a suit in both photographs however in the engagement one he has one and tie and in the newer one he goes without one. The couple seems more relaxed in their new portrait.
Here’s hoping for more portraits to be released in the future!
