Comptroller of the Royal Household for Istana Negara Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the move was to ease the country’s financial burden as the government continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, reported Bernama.

With that said, the Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will stop receiving Royal Emoluments starting this month until August 2020.
