Isn’t she just the cutest!
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, talks about two small-town singers Lars (Will Ferrell) and Sigrit (Rachel McAdams) who chase their pop star dreams at a global music competition.
Where scheming rivals, high stakes and onstage mishaps test their bond. The movie is now out on Netflix!
Rachel goes on to share that she was immediately attracted to play her character Sigrit alongside Will Ferrell who carries the character Lars, because both Will and the director of the film, David Dobkin played a huge role in executing the idea and she shares that Eurovison the competition alone was a great concept to join the team.
“The director, Will Ferrel, the character, the music, costumes, Eurovision, the script, comedy, do you want me to keep going? I had worked with the director before and he reached out and invited me along for the ride. So that’s kind of how it begin.”
She also shared to Fly’s AM Mayhem a few of her favourite songs that she absolutely loved, especially the one her character sings at the end of the movie at Eurovision. Expressing that ‘Husavik’ “was a beautifully written song”.
But the million dollar question we wanted to know was, how was it like for her working along side Will Ferrell, was she able to keep a straight face?
“I don’t! Fortunately I was playing a pretty happy character who really enjoyed him and found him funny, so I can kinda get away with it. I ruined many takes though! He was very patient with me!”
