Just days after they swept four big awards at the MTV Video Music Awards 2020, BTS has carved another triumph by securing their first-ever Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with the latest single “Dynamite”!
The South Korean group, composed of members Jin, Jimin, V, Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook and RM, took home one of their most exciting chart achievements to date this week- a hit debut at the very top of the Billboard Hot 100.

Congratulating the group for their new achievement, South Korean President Moon Jae-In took to Twitter to share his proud excitement “BTS has achieved its first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, writing a new chapter in K-pop history as the first Korean band to do so. After having topped the Billboard 200 main album chart four times, they have now reached No. 1 on both charts.”

The tweet has since been retweeted more than 50 thousand times as of writing- and still going!
This pushes Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s collaboration, “WAP,” down the chart to No. 2 on the Hot 100.

BTS are the first all-Korean band to hit the top spot on the Hot 100, according to Billboard. Previously, the septet reached No. 4 on the chart with their single “On” back in March.
On Sunday (30 August), the group won all categories they were nominated in at 2020 VMAs, including Best Pop, Best K-Pop, Best Group and Best Choreography.
Congrats BTS!
