Last year, a series inspired by a fan-made trailer went viral. The four minute clip, shared a reimagined drama series called Bel-Air with similar plot from the ’90s sitcom, but with a darker take. The trailer, focuses more in depth reality into the life of Will, diving into the conflicts, emotions, and biases that were not included in the original sitcom.
Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Universal TV will be producing the new version.
No network is attached to the show yet, but according to Deadline, the show is being shopped around to streamers and Netflix, Peacock, HBO Max, Amazon, and Apple all want in on the show.
