Tom Hanks Tested Positive For Coronavirus

The actor and his wife, Rita Wilson, caught the virus in Australia

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson announced Thursday (12 March)  that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, have been tested positive for COVID-19 Coronavirus.

This marks the first Hollywood celebrities to go public with a diagnosis.

The “Forest Gump” actor shared the worrying news on social media which wrote “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive, ” he said.

“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed,” the 63 years-old actor continued. “We Hanks’ will be tested observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”

Hanks ended the caption by assuring fans that they will keep them on the loop of their health and recovery “We’ll keep the world posted and updated.”

2. Maintain social distancing.

3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

4. Practise respiratory hygiene.

5. If you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, seek medical care immediately.
