Again? J.K. Rowling is facing new accusations thanks to one of the characters in her upcoming book called Troubled Blood, set for release on Sept 15. The story revolves around a male cisgender serial killer who dresses up like a woman to trick his victims. This book is believed to be Rowling’s fifth installment of her crime fiction series Cormoran Strike, which is published under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith. Related article: J.K. Rowling’s Legacy *Is Over* After Her Transphobic Tweet Went Viral

Just a day before the book’s release, fans and foes lambasted J.K Rowling, who has previously made a slew of controversial comments about gender inequality, and declared her “dead” by sending #RIPJKRowling to the top of the Twitter trending charts. “Imagine getting cancelled so hard, we have to pretend that you d*ed,” one user tweeted.

The infamous Harry Potter writer has made statements many considered as ‘’problematic act’’ in the past—such as writing that she doesn’t want to “make natal girls and women less safe” by granting access inside female bathrooms and changing rooms to “any man who believes or feels he’s a woman”—we are not surprised that the new book’s plot line sparked yet another controversy on Twitter. Big yikes!

In June, J.K Rowling defended her past controversial comments in a lengthy essay, which also revealed that she was sexually assaulted as a young woman. Then, she and 100 other writers and scholars also penned an essay calling for the end of canceled culture, citing an “intolerance of opposing views. Sadly, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson—among other celebrities including numerous Harry Potter stars—has spoken up about her problematic views. But… she just doesn’t get the hint, huh?
